Consortium

SWELL is one of the 15 COMMIT-projects. COMMIT is a public private research community.

The SWELL consortium consists of the following organizations:

TNO

TNO is an independent research organisation whose expertise and research make an important contribution to the competitiveness of companies and organisations, to the economy and to the quality of society as a whole. TNO's unique position is attributable to its versatility and capacity to integrate this knowledge.

Innovation with purpose is what TNO stands for. We develop knowledge not for its own sake but for practical application. To create new products that make life more pleasant and valuable and help companies innovate. To find creative answers to the questions posed by society.

Philips

Philips Research is a global organization that helps Philips introduce meaningful innovations that improve people's lives. We provide technology options for innovations in the area of health and well-being, targeted at both developed and emerging markets. Positioned at the front-end of the innovation process, we work on everything from spotting trends and ideation to proof of concept and - where needed - first-of-a-kind product development.

Noldus

Noldus Information Technology develops innovative solutions for behavioral research on humans and animals. These can vary from industry standard software packages and lab equipment to fully integrated observation labs including training and support. With almost 25 years of experience we translate your questions into practical and proven solutions and services. By executing consulting projects such as recording videos, coding behaviors, and performing data analysis, Noldus' consultants add value to your research project.

Universiteit Twente

University of Twente High tech, human touch. That is the University of Twente. Some 3,300 scientists and other professionals working together on cutting-edge research, innovations with real-world relevance and inspiring education for more than 9,000 students. The enterprising university encourages students to develop an entrepreneurial spirit and is a partner of Kennispark Twente.

Radboud University Nijmegen

Radboud University Nijmegen is one of the leading academic communities in the Netherlands. Established in 1923 and situated in the oldest city of The Netherlands, it has seven faculties and enrols over 17.500 students. One of the main strengths of research at Radboud University is the way it forges cooperative links across national and disciplinary boundaries.

The mission of the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (iCIS) is to improve analysis and development of computer-based systems, through mathematically founded theories, methods and tools. iCIS' main research focus is the quality of software, with an emphasis on reliability, security, architecture and system alignment. The applicability of the institute's methods and tools is validated by tackling these problems, as encountered in society, industry, and other scientific disciplines.

Roessingh Research & Development

Roessingh Research and Development (RRD), the largest Dutch scientific research centre for rehabilitation technology, is an independent R&D organization linked to the Roessingh rehabilitation centre in Enschede. RRD is internationally recognized as a centre of excellence in the fields of rehabilitation technology and telemedicine.

Sense Observation Systems

Sense is a technology company that creates context-awareness. As the number of sensors in our society increases, so does the need for smart solutions that support our communication and transactions based on all the available information. Sense provides integral solutions that optimally make use of the availability of sensors to create local and networked context awareness. Learning, forecasting and continuous adaptation are at the basis of our solutions. We see sensing as an integral part of adaptive systems; supporting networks of people rather than supervising people

Innovalor

Innovalor InnoValor stands for Value through Innovation. We provide research-based advice related to ICT. Our focus is on Identity, privacy & trust, Business Models, Agility and Innovation Management. InnoValor was founded end of 2013 by former employees of Novay (Telematics Instituut) and Novay spin-off INZYCHT. Innovalor is an independent part of BiZZdesign.

Almende

Almende is a Dutch research company specialized in information and communication technologies.

Central to all our research is the concept of self-organization. We believe that computer systems and technology should support people in performing their professional tasks and organizing their daily lives. This means that ICT should learn to work for and with people, according to their individual wishes and demands.

At the core of all Almende solutions are hybrid agent networks: humans and computers working together. We look towards agent technology to develop smart software that truly supports people in organizing their own lives
